Anne Stokes Article.

Anne Stokes is a British fantasy artist, whose art has created and captured much attention. Stokes has always wanted to be an artist, and has been a full-time artist for around 12 years. She was influenced at a young age by the book ‘The Hobbit’ and the fantasy within it, which we can see in her art to this day.
Her artwork is packed with imagination, which is an understatement, and her fantasy style is consistent throughout all of her art. Each piece tells its own story of dragons, fairies and other magical creatures, but it’s the small details within her paintings which define the piece, and the story behind it. Anne Stokes manages to find the inspiration for her work from the world around her; she has said that she carries around a small digital camera and a scrap of paper, to always capture that sudden inspiration.
Stokes’ artwork has been licensed by many companies such as ‘Nemesis Now’, ‘Spiral’, and ‘Eastgate Resource’ which have released a wide range of merchandise including; T-shirts, mugs, sculptures, book covers and jewellery. Also she has produced artwork for the gaming industry providing illustrations for Wizards of the Coast’s Dungeon and Dragon Rule books.
‘Stoked’ is a tattoo art book that Stokes has recently launched, which contains photographs of her artwork tattooed onto various fans.
Stokes’ Deviant Art page (a free-hosting online website, which enables you to share art) under the name Ironshod, has proved popular and has received over a million page views and 40 thousand comments, she has submitted over 150 art pieces which have collectively received over 8 million views and her most popular piece on the site; Water Dragon, has received 280 thousand views alone, and 18 thousand favourites.
