Safety

Instructions for use

Place candles on a heat resistant plate or holder before lighting. Then place on an appropriate level surface that is not highly polished or heat reactive. Make sure the candle will not be knocked over or fall over. And always burn the candle standing upright. Remove all labels before use. Take care to place your candle away from drafts for safety reasons and to maximise the burn time of your candle. Always light a candle with long matches, candle tapers or one of our recommended lighters (see refillable gas lighters). When lighting more than one candle make sure they are at least 10cm/4 inches apart and allow plenty of ventillation from above for the heat to disperse. Always burn candles away from other forms of direct heat such as cookers, sunlight, TV sets etc. Do not let candle burn down to the bottom. Always extinguish properly with a candle snuffer to avoid wax splashing into eyes. Trim wick to ¼ of an inch before relighting. If the candle starts to smoke put it out and trim the wick.

Candle Care

To clean your candle use a soft dry cloth, do not use any sprays or chemical cleaners. To avoid dinner/taper candles becoming out of shape always store flat.

Safety warnings

Candles get very hot so keep children and pets away from the burning candle and always put matches and lighters out of reach. DO NOT LEAVE BURNING CANDLES UNATTENDED FOR ANY REASON. Always check candles when burning from time to time in case of unforseen problems. Always let your candle cool completely before handling. Keep the flame away from flammable materials such as paper, curtains etc. Use an appropriate size candle for the holder. Always read and follow manufacturer’s instructions when using candles or candle holders.
